Tensile behaviour of reinforced UHPFRC elements under serviceability conditions

چکیده

Tension stiffening is an essential effect that influences the behaviour of concrete structures under serviceability conditions, mainly regarding crack control and deflection behaviour. Serviceability conditions can be studied experimentally by running so-called uniaxial tensile test. This paper reports extensive experimental research conducted to study reinforced Ultra-High Performance Fibre-Reinforced Concrete (R-UHPFRC) service testing. The parameters were reinforcement ratio steel fibre content in a programme including 36 specimens. Special testing equipment methodology measure post-cracking deformation R-UHPFRC ties developed, special attention was paid shrinkage effect. elements’ axial stiffness approximately parallel bare bar response after microcracking formation showing full tension-stiffening response. average capacity elements (tension response) achieved. Concrete’s contribution with properties deriving from four-point bending tests (4PBTs) on non-reinforced UHPFRC specimens also compared. results revealed slight increase concrete’s higher ratio. Moreover, than characteristic 4PBTs.

Mechanical behaviour of articular cartilage under tensile cyclic load.

INTRODUCTION Although fatigue has been implicated in cartilage failure, there are only two published studies in this area, by the same author. However, in these previous studies cartilage was tested in the direction parallel to that of collagen orientation in the superficial layer, where it possesses greater tensile strength. In the present work, articular cartilage was also tested along the di...

Creep Behaviour of Heterogeneous Timber-UHPFRC Beams Assembled by Bonding: Experimental and Analytical Investigation

The purpose of this research was to investigate the creep behaviour of the heterogeneous Timber-UHPFRC beams. New developments have been done to further improve the structural performance, such as strengthening of the timber (glulam) beam by bonding composite material combine with an ultra-high performance fibre reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) internally reinforced with or without carbon fibre rei...

Synergetic Use of Thermal and Acoustic Emission in Studying Tensile Behaviour of Fibre Reinforced Composites

The possibility to combine the use of acoustic emission and thermal emission as real-time monitoring techniques on carbon-epoxy composites is the subject of this paper. Tensile tests are therefore performed, using a cross-head speed not too high so to enable a reliable detection of acoustic emission signals, but suitable also for the needs of the thermal emission technique,. The latter techniqu...

Behaviour of Reinforced Fibrous Concrete Beams under Reversed Cyclic Loading

When earthquakes occur, energy released by the earthquake gets induced into the structure as ground motion and this energy has to be dissipated for safety reasons. To release seismic energy, the structure should damage in such a way that on one hand, collapse of structure should not occur and on the other hand, after the earthquake, damage should be economically feasible to repair. To avoid the...

Tensile Properties of Hydroxyapatite Whisker Reinforced Polyetheretherketone

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) was reinforced with 0-40 vol% hydroxyapatite (HA) whiskers using a novel powder processing and compression molding technique. A powder mixture was uniaxially pressed into a composite powder compact and compression molded into a flat composite bar using an open-channel die, such that the HA whiskers exhibited a preferred orientation along the length of the bar and ten...
